What we are about

There are more cases of skin cancer than all other cancers combined. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the US sees at least 3 million Americans per year impacted by skin cancer diagnoses.

On a global scale, the problem is incredibly severe as well, with the American Cancer Society noting that the lifetime risk of getting melanoma is about 3% (1 in 33) for White people, 0.1% (1 in 1,000) for Black people, and 0.5% (1 in 200) for Hispanic people. Despite the need for sun protection, current measures like UV-protective clothing and sunscreens often fall short. However, skin cancer is largely preventable. UV Sense aims to revolutionize skincare by empowering individuals to enjoy outdoor activities without UV overexposure. Our wearable sensor syncs with smartphones, providing accurate sun exposure data for enhanced skin cancer prevention.
